Free AI tool

YouTube description generator

Give it the title and the points the video covers. You get the lines that show above “...more”, a body in plain paragraphs and up to three hashtags. No invented links, no made-up timestamps.

Free, no account. Your text goes to an AI model to write the result and isn't saved.

A description in four parts

The examples in these panels were written for this page. Yours come from your own video.

  1. Video title

I Cooked Everything in an Air Fryer for 30 Days

    What it covers

Breakfast, lunch and dinner What went wrong The electricity bill

    01

    Your video

The title and the points, in order

The title, then what the video covers, one point per line. The description follows that order, so it reads like the video, not like a keyword list.

  2. Shown above “...more”

30 days of cooking every meal in an air fryer: what worked, what failed, and what it did to my electricity bill.

    02

    The opening

    The lines above “...more”

Most viewers only ever see the start of a description. The opening says what they get, with the video's main search phrase in it once, written like a sentence.

  3. Body

Breakfast was the easy part. Eggs, toast and bacon all came out better than in a pan...

    03

    The body

    Plain paragraphs, then one question

80 to 180 words that cover your points, then a question someone can actually answer in the comments, instead of “let me know what you think”.

  4. #airfryer #cooking #30daychallenge

    04

    Hashtags

    Three at most

When the title has none, YouTube shows the first three hashtags of the description above it. So you get two or three that fit, not a wall of them.

What a description is for

A description has two readers. A viewer, who sees the first lines under the video and decides whether to open the rest. And search, which reads the whole thing to understand what the video is about.

Neither is helped by a block of keywords. The opening should read like a sentence a person wrote, and the rest should describe the video you actually made.

That's also why the generator never adds chapters or links. It doesn't know your timestamps or your gear, and invented ones are worse than none. Those are yours to add.

Need the title first? The title generator writes six.

Then the hidden field: the tag generator.

Built for the upload screen

  • Long videos

A body that follows the video

Your points in the order you cover them, so the description works as a summary.

  • Tutorials

    The search phrase, once

The words people type, in the opening, written as a sentence and not repeated five times.

  • Series

    The same shape each time

Opening, body, question, hashtags: a format your regular viewers learn to scan.

  • Other languages

    Written in the page's language

Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German or Indonesian, from the same form.

Questions, answered

How long can a YouTube description be?

Up to 5,000 characters. Only the first lines show under the video before “...more”, so those are worth the most work. The generator keeps the opening under 200 characters and the whole description far below the limit.

Where do hashtags go in a YouTube description?

Anywhere in it. When the title has no hashtags, YouTube shows the first three from the description above the title, which is why the generator puts two or three at the end.

Does it add chapters or timestamps?

No. It doesn't know where each part of your video starts, and a wrong timestamp sends viewers to the wrong moment. Add them yourself: a list of times in the description that starts at 0:00, with at least three entries, becomes chapters.

Is the description generator free?

Yes, with no account and no card. Each visitor can run it ten times an hour, because every run is a call to an AI model that costs us money.

Is my text saved?

No. The title and points are sent to the AI model to write the description and aren't stored with us.

Now the thumbnail

Paste the video link. The generator writes the brief from your title, makes the thumbnail and checks it at feed size. Previews are free.
